Our Story
We are a young French-Mongolian couple. Our longhaired miniature dachshund, @bisoudoxie, inspired us to launch Woolwag in San Francisco June 2020, and create luxurious, yet accessible outerwear for dogs.
We believe every pup should be able to experience the luxury of cashmere.
Our Materials
We selected cashmere for it’s incredible properties. Here are just some of the reasons we choose it:
- Warmer than wool
- Ultra-breathable
- Odor-blocking antibacterial properties
- Soft & Lightweight
- Wrinkle-free
- Hand-washable
We responsibly source all of our cashmere from Outer Mongolia. During the winter, Mongolian goats have to have long and resilient fibers to protect them from temperatures as low as -50°F. In the spring, as the weather warms and goats begin to shed their undercoat, herders begin the combing process. Mongolian nomadic herders specialize in a cruelty-free and traditional method of combing goats. To process such a delicate fiber and weave it into fabric is an arduous process, making cashmere such a luxury product. Cashmere goats typically provide around 4 to 6 ounces of cashmere annually.
Our Supply Chain
We design our minimalist products in our home and responsibly source cashmere from Outer Mongolia. We work closely and directly with a local artisans in Mongolia to make our designs and create sweaters, hoodies, and scarves for your pup. We are proud to showcase the expertise of our artisans in working with this delicate wool and empower Mongolian workers in the making of our product.
